Tempting Travelers to… Bardal in Ronda

Malaga province can boast another Michelin star, this time for Bardal, Benito Gómez’s restaurant in Ronda.

In this new venture, Gómez places the emphasis on local produce, reinvented tradition and deep and recognizable flavours. The inspectors from the Michelin Guide said they had been completely surprised by the authenticity and freedom of style which “combine to perfection creative gastronomy with the finest interiors.”
Thanks to this recognition, Bardal joins Dani García, who has two Michelin stars, Jose Carlos García Restaurante, El Lago, Skina, Messina, Sollo and Kabuki Raw in the list of shining stars.

Ronda is one of the best places to tempt travelers to fantastic gastronomy, the magical surroundings of Ronda’s old-town quarter called La Ciudad are one of my favourite travel memories. From touring the impressive bull ring and bridges dating back to Roman times, to pairing local wines and dining out of your own hand made ceramics, Ronda truly tempts travelers to immerse in the best of Andalusian culture.

Tempting Travellers to… BASQUE COUNTRY by Fiona Knight @fknightevents

The Basque Country, located in the North of Spain, is home to some of the world’s finest food, beaches in natural settings and avant-garde architecture. This area is the ideal place to tempt travellers to an all-round visit. If you visit the Basque Country, you should taste the famous “pintxos” miniature morsels of “haute cuisine” which you will see displayed in all their glory on the counters of numerous bars. Basque Gastronomy is world renowned and Michelin starred restaurants tempt travellers to some of the standard-bearers of new Spanish cuisine.

Rioja Alavesa

If you would like something delicious to drink, try any of the wines from the Rioja Alavesa or Txakoli regions.

La Concha beach. San Sebastián

The Basque Country has beautiful coastal destinations like San Sebastián, Zarautz, Getaria, Lekeitio or Hondarribia, as well as inland cities such as Vitoria and Bilbao. The latter is the home to such innovative buildings as the Guggenheim Museum, which has received international acclaim. In addition, the Basque Country has a range of spectacular natural resources (both nature reserves and biosphere reserves) which make this the perfect place for sports, and offer yet another good reason to set out on the known ‘Camino de Santiago’ pilgrimage route, which passes along this part of Spain.

Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela

Servicios Turísticos Integrales have a range of tours along the Basque Country, which allow you to enjoy this land and take part in some of its traditional activities. All of them start and finish in Bilbao, and can be arranged from 2 people with weekly departures.
